John C. Gibson, Jr., / Owner / Chief Executive Officer Jack Gibson Construction Company
John C Gibson, Jr., began his career in the construction industry in 1967. His work experience includes serving as a Laborer, Laborer Foreman, Superintendent, Estimator, and Project Manager.
Education: Graduate of Warren G. Harding High School; attended Ohio Northern University and Youngstown State University, majoring in Business Administration.
Community Service: John is very active in the greater Warren Community and the Mahoning Valley. He is past member of the following community boards: The Ronald McDonald House, The American Red Cross, The Warren McKinley Baseball League, St Paul Lutheran Church Council, The United Way of Trumbull County, The Warren Area Chamber of Commerce, and the St. Joseph Hospital Development Foundation. He also has given many years of support to the Warren City Schools.
He is currently a member of the Warren Rotary and the Kent State University Trumbull Campus Advisory Board, where he serves as Board Member Emeritus.
John is a graduate of Leadership Mahoning Valley.

Past President; Trumbull Division of the Builders Association.
John is married to Lynn Gibson. Lynn is a graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a B.S. Degree in Education. She is a former first grade and preschool teacher. Lynn also served for 16 years as a member of the Warren Board of Education. Active in the community, she has been a board member of many community organizations. Lynn is a graduate of Leadership Mahoning Valley.
John and Lynn Gibson have three grown children, all graduates of the Warren City Schools. They are:
Jennifer is a graduate of Bowling Green State University and Case Western Reserve University with a Masters Degree in Social Work. She is a teacher.
John is a graduate of The Ohio State University. He is a project manager for Gilbane Construction Managers in Columbus, Ohio.
Jason is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Construction Management. He is Executive Vice President of The Jack Gibson Construction Company.
John and Lynn Gibson also have 5 grandchildren.
E. James Breese, President
E. James (Jim) Breese is a 1986 Graduate, Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science. He joined the Jack Gibson Construction Company in 1988 in our Accounting Department. He became Treasurer/Controller in 1994 and advanced to the position of Vice President of Operations in 2001.
Elected President in 2003, Jim now oversees the company operations and is involved in all projects from start to finish. He is involved in all financial decisions for the company. Jim works closely with our controller to finalize monthly financial statements and job analysis, meets with investment firms and our bonding and insurance company. He regularly meets with project managers for job progress updated and reviews our bidding selections. He has completed the OSHA 30 Hour Course.
In addition to managing the company, Jim is a project manager. Project manager duties include: schedule preparation, document control, submittal review and tracking, contract cost control, field coordination, attend progress meetings, project turnover and closeout.
Jason Gibson, Executive Vice President/Project Manager/Estimator
Jason Gibson joined the company in 2009. He is a 2008 graduate of Ohio State University majoring in Construction Systems Management. He is a project manager/estimator. In 2010 he earned his LEED AP Building Design & Construction Certificate. Jason is OSHA 30 Hour Certified.
Project manager duties include: schedule preparation, document control, submittal review and tracking, contract cost control, field coordination, attend progress meetings, project turnover and closeout. Estimating duties include drawing take-off, solicitation of subcontractors and material suppliers and coordinate final pricing.

Marilyn E. Hughes, Secretary/Treasurer
Mrs. Hughes started with the company in 1987 as secretary to John C. Gibson, Sr. and project administrator. In 1998 she was promoted to Secretary/Treasurer/Office Manager. She is currently secretary to Jim Breese, President and John Gibson, Jr., Owner/CEO.
Mrs. Hughes prepares and submits monthly Schedule of Value billings, works with our insurance provider to review company exposures on current projects and jobs being bid; works with our TPA and MCO on all Worker's Compensation claims; oversee Ohio BWC Drug Free Workplace policy, review specifications for Bid Bonds and Payment & Performance Bond requirements; prepares bid documents; file monthly Ohio EEO compliance reports; prepares monthly trade union reports; oversees the company 401K program; assists controller as needed and oversees office functions as office manager.
As project administrator she prepares contracts, proposals, purchase orders and change orders; check, track & submit shop drawings, prepare bid packages for construction management projects; record job meeting minutes; close out projects which includes preparation of Operating and Maintenance/Warranty Manuals, and applying for final bonding company documents. In addition, assist estimators with securing pricing and running of blueprints and specifications.
Denise M. Kover, Controller
Mrs. Kover, Controller, joined the company in 1999 as Assistant Controller and was promoted to Controller in 2002. She graduated from Youngstown State University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration and in 1998 from Youngstown State University Post Graduate Accounting Program.
Duties include preparing monthly in-house statements, reviewing and paying State, Federal and Local income and payroll taxes, determine payments to be made to subcontractors and material suppliers, process payroll, work with outside auditors for annual audit, bank reconciliation, inventory, determine billing rates, tracks monthly investment results and oversee accounting department.
Lisa R. Spadaford, Project Administrator
Mrs. Spadaford worked with our company from 2003 through 2012. In 2016 she rejoined our firm as Project Administrator and Assistant to our Estimating Department.
As project administrator she prepares contracts, proposals, purchase orders and change orders; check, track and submit shop drawings; prepare bid packages for construction management projects; record job meeting minutes; close out projects which includes preparation of operation and maintenance/warranty manuals, and applying for final bonding company paperwork. In addition, assist estimators with securing pricing and running of blueprints.
Her duties to the estimating department include Invitations to bid, invitation lists, bid forms, plotting blueprints, downloading and uploading blueprints to ftp sites, scanning and emailing blueprints and specifications, keeping bidders up-to-date with addendum's and bid requirements, all MBE, DBE and EDGE requirements/paperwork for the bidding process.
Lisa also designed our company website and maintains it to keep it up to date.
Sharon C. Morgan, Accounts Payable Clerk
Mrs. Morgan joined our staff in 2006 in our accounting department. Her accounting duties include: Code and enter invoices, purchase orders and change orders on a daily basis in the View Point System, process payments from AIA's to subcontractors; process regular monthly and weekly payables; maintain vendor database, processes payroll for all field employees on a weekly basis, process 1099's at year end, assist with year end audit; assist with employee year end processing, bank reconciliations, file invoices and vouchers on a daily basis; process checks weekly, including printing, recording, mailing and filing.
John R. Reed, PE, Consultant
Mr. Reed is an engineering estimator who graduated from Penn State University in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and from Youngstown State University in 1980 with a Master's degree in Business Administration. Mr. Reed worked for several general contractors prior to going to work for LTV (Republic Steel) in 1969 where he was an environmental engineer responsible for the district's wastewater pollution control program. Mr. Reed came to work for the company in 1985 as a project manager and estimator. In 2001 John retired and became a consultant for the company.
His job duties include estimating and project management primarily in the field of concrete and water/wastewater treatment plants.
